April moved to Seattle in 2004 as a newlywed and has since lived magically in this city. She's a mom to two boys—now taller than her—and a family dog named Stewie. She's worked in the Cloud Room on and off since 2015 when she launched her first cannabis company, Van der Pop, which the world's largest cannabis company acquired in 2018. As a brand creator, podcast host, and psychedelic curator, April Pride has spent her career obsessing over the lived experience co-created through her work. After graduating with a Masters from Parsons, her creative career in Seattle began in interior design before she started designing products, brands and experiences in the emerging markets of cannabis and psychedelics for women ages 40-60.
As an exited founder, April created and hosted the How to Do the Pot podcast before turning her curiosity to psychedelics just as she was ending a two-decade marriage and moving out of her family home. Much of that journey is documented on her podcast (Ketamine for Divorce, Depression & Dependency, 2022) and Substack (Microdosing for Midlife, 2025).
Today, April hosts Psychedelic Salon, which started in the Cloud Room lounge in 2023 and begins its third season at Town Hall Seattle in October 2026. Alongside her podcast and Substack, she hosts Women in the Wild, an intimate monthly gathering for women curious about psychedelics at her Capitol Hill home.
April has been recognized by Vice, Forbes, and The Guardian, and named to High Times' "Female 50."
