MOO-YOUNG Studio: SNEAKER KIT WORKSHOP

  • MOO-YOUNG Studio 1308 East Union Street Seattle, WA, 98122 United States (map)

In this daylong workshop you will learn how to cut, punch and sew your own custom leather sneakers.  With multiple design options to choose from including solid leather and custom shibori leather, high tops or low tops, you can mix and match to create your perfect custom pair. Rubber soles and patterns by Dutch designer Roderick Pieters.

The workshop will run from 12 - 6 PM and include a 30-minute lunch break. The studio is centrally located and walking distance from many great Capitol Hill lunch spots! If you want to bring your own lunch, there is a refrigerator at the studio that you are welcome to use.

This is a hands-on workshop and no experience is needed. Come ready to learn! After this class students will be able to purchase additional soles and make their own sneakers at home. Extra leather is available for purchase through Francine or you can visit the local leather shop and choose from their abundant leather supply. To ensure focused attention and instruction, we are only offering 3–4 spots for group workshops or you may choose a private lesson.

For students who do not finish both shoes or wish to start another pair on their own, Francine offers free help on scheduled dates at the Chophouse location just 3 blocks from the studio. This offer is only available for students who have taken the workshop.

Sharp tools will be used and all students will be asked to sign a waiver.
