KIRSTEN HARRIS-TALLEY

Co-Founder + Principal Facilitator, In the Works

Kirsten Harris-Talley (she/her) is an activist, power building strategist, and artist. She is Co-Founder and Principal Facilitator at In The Works; building belonging, anti-racism, and repair practice with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, and youth led organizations and movements. In The Works has been part of the Cloud Room community since 2024.
As a ceramist and herbalist she weaves history and story into her art and medicine making. She previously served as a Seattle City Councilmember and a Washington State Representative. She is active in the #BlackLivesMatter and abolition movements for police accountability and alternatives to incarceration. As a founding board member of Surge Reproductive Justice, she knows first-hand the transformation created when those most impacted lead our movements. She believes the personal is political - that which we practice is how we show up in the world - and invites us to be whole, accountable, and caring.
She and her family thrive in Seattle, WA - in the occupied ancestral lands of the Duwamish and Coast Salish peoples. With very little coaxing, she will gladly do a karaoke duet or tarot reading with you.
